Exciting Training Opportunities

If you are an Outdoor Emergency Care Instructor, there are several training opportunities emerging at the end of the ski season and into the early spring for OEC and OFC training and testing on a region basis.

The first opportunity is the Region practical test for Senior Outdoor Emergency Care, which will be held on Saturday March 14, 2020 at Pine Knob. Please let Rae Ruddy raeruddy@comcast.net know if you can assist as an evaluator, helper patroller, or patient at this important event.

The next opportunity is the Outdoor First Care course for candidates joining the National Ski Patrol as Mountain Bike Patrollers in the Clinton River Mountain Biking Association Mountain Bike Patrol. The course will be held on Sunday April 5, 2020 at the Shelby Township Fire Department at 0900 hours and last roughly 6 1/2 hours. The NSP procedure for teaching this class requires a few OEC Instructors to participate in the course. If you have interest, please contact Dave Boboltz dave.boboltz@comcast.net for details.

Lastly, we are looking into running a EMT/Paramedic Modified Challenge in the April and May timeframe. Details are still being worked out, so stay tuned to this channel for more information.
